CREATED FOR US. IMRPOVED FOR YOU
RTP Prototype Engineering started the same way many good engineering businesses do — in a shed, after hours, solving problems that didn’t have neat off-the-shelf answers.
Our background isn’t from one discipline. It’s built from years spent moving between workshops, cockpits, paddocks, hangars, and job sites. Trained in welding and machining, then flying commercially in low-level environments, we’ve worked across aerial application, aerial firefighting, agriculture, and survey work — while still keeping our hands dirty in fabrication and mechanical work.
Along the way, we picked up ideas from everywhere:
how food-grade systems prioritise cleanliness and reliability,
how agriculture demands robustness and serviceability,
how aerial work leaves no room for failure, while ensuring productivity doesnt suffer,
and how performance and 4WD builds reward smart packaging, strength-to-weight thinking, and practical design.
Those disciplines don’t live in isolation at RTP — they inform each other.
WHAT WE DO
We design and manufacture purpose-built products for aviation and high-end fabrication businesses that actually use their equipment.
From mobile helicopter platforms and aerial support hardware, to custom tools, brackets, tanks, and precision components — our work is shaped by real operational experience. Everything is designed with maintenance, install, and long-term use in mind, because we’re the same people who have to live with the outcomes and use the products.
WHY RTP
We’re engineers who fly, and pilots who fabricate.
That crossover matters. It means designs are stress-tested in real conditions long before they ever become a finished product. We don’t just prototype ideas — we integrate lessons learned from agriculture, aviation, mechanical trades, and performance engineering into equipment that works harder and lasts longer.
